Cherry provides merchants a platform for offering payment plans to customers via a responsive web app and native iOS / Android mobile applications.
Cherry's merchant-facing application exhibits flow and navigation issues and is not well optimized for the smallest and largest screen sizes. Verifying and approving customers for loans is also a point of friction. Cherry's customer-facing application presents information hierarchy challenges. Important features are buried, and payment status and progress is unclear.
My task is to improve the look and feel of Cherry's products, making it easier for merchants to close and manage their sales.
I am building and testing design components to ensure that the user experience is optimized for usability, usefulness, and visual clarity.
I am conducting usability and flow reviews for Cherry's existing products, examining data in Google Analytics, sketching wireframes, and building design components using Figma.
As features are introduced to the platform, IÂ am working with Cherry's development team to conduct usability tests and validate implementation.
This project is still in-development. Check back soon for updates!
Alumsum simplifies the financial picture by combining all student loan information into one place. It makes payment recommendations for more efficient payoff, accepts and tracks payments via Stripe, generates refinancing suggestions, offers educational content to clarify the student loan landscape, and tracks payoff progress to foster a sense of accomplishment.
The interface was designed as a flexible grid of cards, each focused on a particular user need surfaced during research. This layout allows for flexible yet focused interactions, it scales well to different screen sizes, and it can be expanded as functionality is added in future iterations.
Users indicated that privacy and security are of great concern when it comes to finances, so we paid extra attention to on-boarding and information collection. Users are encouraged to add financial, educational, and other personal information to personalize their experience, but these are optional and can be completed later. Alumsum uses Plaid to link loan provider and bank accounts quickly and securely.
Throughout this project, our team kept track of ideas that we wanted to explore, but that didn't fall within the current scope of focus. We ranked these ideas based on their value to the business and (estimated) implementation complexity (pictured below). Moving forward, the client can consider "easy wins" and "strategic initiatives"Â in future iterations.
Many thanks to the team and our client! We're excited to stay involved and look forward to seeing the platform evolve!
